WALT: Write a speech
Remember:
Introduction
  • Do NOT start with “Hi I’m Jo and I’m going to talk to you about ...”
  • State your key focus/point of view
  • Have a great hook!  Get your audience’s attention!
    • Interesting fact - Did you know..?
    • 3 powerful adjectives
    • Statement - turn our into question into a statement sentence.
    • Rhetorical question
Several Paragraphs
  • One big idea per paragraph with evidence/information to support that big idea
  • Use interesting connectives - see our modelling book for ideas
Concluding Statement
  • Re-state key focus/point of view and leave your audience with something to think about

Title The Horse

Introduction: Would you like to know more about horses? Where they live, eat, how they survive, why they are so useful?? Let's talk about it.  

Big Idea 1  There are more than 300 types of horses in the world today. Most Horses live in the farm, they are vegetarian. A baby horse called Pony.  They live mostly for 15 to 25 years of age.

Big Idea 2  In olden days horses were used for agriculture and transportation - Cart, Buggy. Now a days Horses are also widely used in riding. Police work.

Big Idea 3
Horses play very  important role in our life, so we need to look after them, need to clean, brush and feed them daily. Horses need to do exercise like, walking, running and  jumping. We need to Keep them healthy.
