Dear Prime Minister,

Hello My name is Natalie and I go to Owairaka District School. I am in Room 8. We have Garden to Table at our school and it is fun.

At Garden to Table we learn how to grow food and then how to cook it. I have tried lots of different foods from different countries. I liked when we made rice. I ate zucchini  for the first time it was delicious.

We learned how to be safe with sharp knives and be safe in a kitchen. When we were cooking we had to measure things so this helped us with our Maths. We learned to read a recipe or else the food would not taste good.
In the garden we learned how to plant seedlings and then how to water them and look after them. We had to keep the gardens tidy and pull out heaps of weeds. I liked it when we got to harvest the vegetables, there were some vegetables I had never seen before.

We would love you to come and visit Garden to Table at our school so you can see how great it is. We would love all New Zealand schools to do Garden To Table.

Yours faithfully
Natalie
